Sam

Sam came to NOVA Employment as a Transition student, he stayed with us for 2 years where he learnt many skills in preparation for work. While in Transition a position was found for Sam working 2 days a week at Amcal chemist in Forster.

Sam’s duties included stacking stock onto shelves, clearing out the used Webster Packs, cleaning shelves, pricing stock, go on deliveries and assisting at the front counter. He loves being around people and has a great big smile on his face most of the time.

When Sam first started he was assessed at working at a level of 20%. Recently Sam required a little bit of help from NOVA Employment to become more work focused. This was done over a period of 8 weeks where Nova went in and worked along with him. We very quickly could see that Sam did have more potential to offer.

Now Sam has become more productive and enjoys his Job even more. Every 12 months Sam is assessed to see if his level of productivity has increased. This was done only 3 weeks ago and we were all excited to hear that Sam had gone from 20% to 70% productivity in this space of time. Well Done Sam..

He said to us: If it wasn’t for me this place would fall apart!

NOVA Employment focuses on a person’s ability and not their disability. This is another of Nova’s Transitional success stories
