Matt![]() Matthew is a motivated 20 year old young man who attended a support unit at school until he left, after completing year 12, in 2004. In January 2005 Matt decided to enrol in the Nova Transition To Work program (TTW) at the Hurstville office. Matthew was doing extremely well on the TTW program and in June 2005 was accepted onto the Nova Employment program. Matt continued on the TTW program and was also case loaded to a Nova Employment Consultant (EC). His EC started employment preparation and job matching activities with Matt. The EC completed various assessments to ascertain Matt’s skills, job choice and support needs. Then, Matt and his EC, created an Employment Assistant Plan (EAP). In the EAP Matt stated he wanted to do General Factory Hand type work and the search started. In August 2006 Matt started working two days a week as a Process Worker in a plastics moulding factory. Matt’s duties include, starting machines in the morning, loading machines with plastic granules and counting products into boxes. After almost a year Matt is still going strong, he loves his job. Greg, Matt’s boss, is very happy with Matt’s work performance. So much so that Greg will be offering Matt extra working hours. Matt put in the effort and with Nova assistance, both on the TTW and employment programs, Matt has the job of his choice and is doing what he wanted to do. Congratulations Matt, keep up the good work. |
