Broken Hill Gala Night

On Friday night (13th November) our Broken Hill team staged the second annual Broken Hill Gala Dinner - a night to acknowledge and thank the employers with whom NOVA's Broken Hill team have worked during 2009.

NOVA's Jess Burton hosted a first class evening that included local radio personality Damien Fisher as MC, speeches from NOVA CEO Martin Wren and Jess Burton, a first class meal and entertainment from "The Amazing Nigel", who was indeed, amazing.

The message from all speakers was clear: things may have been tough for the business community but employers in the Far West of NSW are committed to recognising and using the resource available through NOVA's pool of job seekers. The 2 employers that spoke (KFC and Woolworths) were both keen to highlight the practical value of NOVA's support program and the talent of the workers that they had hired.

The local team: Brenda Ralph, Georgie Donohue, Erin Meehan and Debbie Files, did an absolutely first class job, ably assisted by Janel Collins, Margo Isbill and assorted partners, spouses and friends. The Broken Hill Golf Club provided an excellent venue and the nearly 200 guests that attended enjoyed a celebration of the ability of local people who have a disability.

2010 will see us all back for an event that promises to be just as much fun.
